Game play is the primary function of EGMs and, thus, support for game play is one of the core features of the Game-to-System (G2S) protocol. All EGMs need to implement the core classes related to game play. Many host systems use those classes to monitor and control game play activities. In addition to the core classes related to game play, G2S also supports a series of optional classes that support advanced game play features such as progressive jackpots, mystery jackpots, promotional bonus awards, and central determination. Game design and operator preference will determine when these classes need to be included in an EGM. This course introduces students to the core game play classes as well as the optional related classes. Students will learn the purpose of the classes and how they are intended to be used.
