Andrei Serban, Head of Affiliates of Chipy, joins the latest series of affiliate interviews on Affiliate Grand Slam

Andrei Serban is one of the 300 affiliates that AGS flew to SiGMA Malta – follow his story below

How long have you been in this industry?

I have been working in the industry for more than 6 years. However, the company was born in 2012 when The Big Free Chip List (now Chipy) was launched.

What brought you into the affiliate world?

Chipy.com is what brought me to the affiliate world. When I joined the company, I had recently graduated and today I am as excited as I was when I started. Throughout the years, I have played multiple roles in the organization and I am happy to say that I have made a significant contribution to its growth.

How was your 300 Spartans’ experience? Was it beneficial?

It sure brought me a new perspective. The 300 Spartans’ experience gave me a new view of the industry. Even with my experience, it is refreshing to still be able to discover things that can teach me new aspects.

What makes your traffic proposition/traffic sites unique?

I believe that what sets us apart is the quality of our content. Our sites provide a variety of features for our users such as helpful reviews, amazing bonuses, compelling guides, and unique features like the Playground on Chipy.com. We have dedicated teams of experts for each feature that we have on our sites and I believe that this is what helps us stand out.

How does the affiliate market compare now to 6 years ago when you started working in the industry?

The affiliate market now has more affiliate networks that act as intermediaries between affiliates and operators. 6 years ago this was definitely something which wasn’t that popular but it has changed now. Also, a big factor that is influencing the affiliate market are the regulations which are constantly changing and are impacting all affiliates, the smaller companies and the big players in the industry alike.

How do you manage relationships with multiple operators?

It is a challenge that we are always accepting. A good organization is the key to promising and strong partnerships. Moreover, we believe that honesty is the next good aspect that helps us maintain good relationships with operators.

Are you a regular attendee at the SiGMA events? SiGMA Africa, Americas, Asia, Balkans/CIS, Eurasia, Europe – which of these four expo shows would you likely book on your diary for 2023?

Yes, I have been attending SiGMA for a few years now and we are always excited to return. I am also interested in other expo shows; Europe, Asia, and potentially the Americas.
