Resorts World Las Vegas has announced the appointment of Jennifer Roberts as its new Chief Compliance Officer. Roberts will oversee the resort’s compliance function, which includes regulatory compliance, registration and licensing, anti-money laundering (AML), responsible gaming and technical compliance.
“On behalf of the entire leadership team, I am pleased to welcome Jennifer to Resorts World,” said Alex Dixon, CEO of Resorts World Las Vegas.
“Her deep expertise in gaming law and understanding of the casino regulatory environment makes her uniquely positioned to continue our efforts to build and sustain a robust, world-class compliance program. Integrity, commitment and ethics are critical components of the culture at Resorts World Las Vegas and Jennifer will play a key role in further strengthening our compliance program, ensuring it is appropriately designed, resourced, tested and empowered to promote a culture of compliance.”
Roberts, the founder of Roberts Gaming Law, Ltd., brings more than 20 years of legal experience to her new role. She most recently served as Vice President and General Counsel at WynnBET, where she was responsible for compliance operations and the development of reporting systems across multiple jurisdictions.
Prior to that, Roberts served as Director of Sports Gaming Regulation for the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation. She also held leadership roles at the University of Nevada Las Vegas’s International Center for Gaming Regulation, including Associate Director and interim Executive Director. There, she developed and implemented training programs to educate regulators and industry professionals on casino compliance and provided guidance on regulatory frameworks.
As Chief Compliance Officer, Roberts will lead the development and implementation of compliance programmes and policies at Resorts World Las Vegas. Her responsibilities will include identifying and managing compliance risks, conducting operational assessments, and ensuring continuous testing and monitoring to maintain regulatory standards.
“I am thrilled to join this stellar team of professionals and help drive the continued development of a best-in-class compliance program here at Resorts World Las Vegas,” Roberts said.
“I want to thank the leadership team for this opportunity and look forward to working closely with them as we build on the significant progress already made.”
Roberts previously spent 11 years as an attorney in the Gaming & Regulatory Department at Lionel Sawyer & Collins. She currently serves as an adjunct professor at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law and the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, where she earned her J.D.
Her appointment follows a period of management changes at Resorts World Las Vegas, including a US$10.5 million settlement related to allegations of non-compliance with state anti-money laundering regulations.
