Shirley Tam, a popular figure and name in the casino marketing world, has officially joined Korea’s INSPIRE Entertainment Resort as Chief Casino Marketing Officer. Tam brings with her 24 years of experience in the casino industry. She began her career at Caesar’s Windsor in Canada, where she spent eight years and rose to the position of Assistant Marketing Operations Manager. She then moved to Macau, working in casino marketing roles at The Venetian for four years, Galaxy for six years, and Wynn for four months, reaching the level of Vice President.
Following this, Tam entered the cruise casino sector as Vice President of Marketing at Genting Hong Kong for two years. She later became Senior Vice President of Premium Marketing at Okada Manila, where she worked for three years.
After leaving Okada in August 2021 during the pandemic, Tam took a break from the casino industry. She pursued a one-year culinary course in the UK, a passion project that led to many joyful Facebook photos.
Her return to the Asia-Pacific integrated resort scene marks a major step forward for . The property recently came under the management of Bain Capital after the exit of Mohegan, which had overseen its development until its official launch in February 2024.
The change in control came after Mohegan defaulted on a US$275 million “Korea Term Loan” related to the resort’s US$1.6 billion development. Mohegan confirmed that the default was due to a breach of debt covenants requiring INSPIRE to meet certain financial targets — not because of missed loan payments.
