Germany’s leading sports betting and online gaming provider Tipico has received the highly regarded ISO 14001:2015 certification for its Environmental Management System (EMS).
This certification recognises Tipico’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable business operations at its headquarters in Malta and technology offices in Munich and Karlsruhe, Germany.
Introduced in 1996, the ISO 14001 standard has so far been the global benchmark for effective environmental management systems. It provides a framework to manage environmental responsibilities systematically, emphasising continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and the achievement of measurable sustainability objectives.
“For Tipico, certification is both a recognition of existing efforts and a springboard for future progress: Beyond the environmental benefits, implementing ISO 14001:2015 drives greater resource efficiency, reduces waste, and delivers real cost savings, ensuring that sustainability and business success go hand in hand,” the .
Tipico’s path to certification began with a detailed examination of how its activities impact the environment and how it operates. The organisation then implemented particular rules to address any issues and ensure that everything fulfilled the ISO 14001:2015 requirements. Tipico successfully met all of the requirements after undergoing stringent internal and external checks.
The certification applies to Tipico’s technology offices in Karlsruhe and Munich, as well as its headquarters in Malta. Tipico sees this as a starting point and has already begun taking further steps to improve its sustainability efforts, including plans to extend the certification to its retail shops across Germany.
The company further added, “This ongoing commitment reinforces Tipico’s dedication to embedding sustainability in every aspect of its operations, both online and offline.”
Earlier this year in January, Tipico signed an agreement with NOVOMATIC AG to acquire a 100% stake in ATLAS Group GmbH, the parent company of ADMIRAL Group in Austria. This deal is subject to regulatory approval. In addition, Tipico has entered into new partnerships this month, including a content integration collaboration with Zeal and another agreement with Games Global in Germany.
